HOW TO GROW QUINOA

Direct sow after last frost. In cold climates it can be started 4-6 weeks in advance indoors and planted out after last frost. In zone 7B We direct sow like Corn May –June 10. Cover seeds very lightly or just water in. Seed heads often require ripening. Cut and hang in a dry airy place with a tarp under or put in a paper bag. Soak and rinse 2-3 times before cooking to remove bitter saponins. Tolerant to dry soil. After harvest, the seeds must be thoroughly washed to remove the coating containing the bitter soapy tasting saponins. This bitterness has beneficial effects during cultivation, as the plant is unpopular with birds and therefore requires minimal protection. Soil pH 6-8.5. Hardiness zones 4-11. Annual.

##Faro type quinoa - 6’ tall plants with large flower heads that turn red at maturity and yield tan, highly nutritious quinoa seeds. Selected by Peter Gauss in Williams Oregon, PDQ outperformed other quinoa varieties in trials at Lupine Knoll Farm. Note: quinoa seed must be thoroughly washed before eating to remove saponins that will otherwise give the quinoa a soapy taste. Quinoa seeds are in general cooked the same way as rice and can be used in a wide range of dishes. Quinoa leaves are also eaten as a leaf vegetable, much like amaranth. Great direction for the post Krakoan Era
Format: Paperback
It's actually great. If you're worried about the direction of X comics post Krakoa, this series should help alleviate those fears. Interesting plot, great chemistry between characters, and the art is great (even if Scott & Quentin look a bit too young).
